Orapi 101-Screw lock

Orapi 101-Screwlock is a single component, low strength anaerobic threadlocking resin which cures to a tough, solid thermoset plastic when in contact with metal in the absence of air. The product is recommended for the locking and sealing of ferrous and non-ferrous metal fasteners (machine screws/nuts/bolts etc) replacing crown and “nylock” nuts, star and spring washers, wire retainers etc to prevent self-loosening.

Orapi 101-Screwlock is designed for use with smaller diameter fasteners (up to M3) or on larger diameter fasteners where the products low strength allowing easy dismantling is desirable.

Product Data

Orapi Screw Lock adhesive 101 is a single component, low viscosity, low strength anaerobic adhesive.

Typical Uses

Scre Lock 101 provides medium strength bonds for threadlocking applications where it seals preventing leakage and corrosion of threaded connections. IMPACT ADHESIVE 101 is ideal on parts which may be lightly oiled or contaminated substrates, saving on clean down and degreasing.

Benefits

  • Gives a fast and reliable cure on most metallic surfaces.
  • Eliminates the vibration loosening of fasteners.
  • It seals and prevents leakage and corrosion of threaded connections.
  • Easy disassembly of bonded components when necessary.

Methods of Application

  • Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean and free from grease, dirt, dust and any other contamination.
  • To ensure best cleaning results use IMPACT ADHESIVE S1950.
  • U

  • nscrew cap and cut off the top of the nozzle using a sharp or similar implement taking care to point the blade away from the body at all times.
  • Affix the appropriate dosing tip if required. (Information on dosing tips can be found on IMPACT ADHESIVE
  • Technical Information Sheet – Anaerobic Dosing Tips).
  • Apply IMPACT ADHESIVE 101 Screw Lock to the bolt in sufficient quantity to fill all engaged threads.
  • Bring together threaded components and tighten as required.
  • Allow the bond to fully cure.

To Reduce Cure Time

Pre-Application

  • In order to reduce handling time, IMPACT ADHESIVES range of Anaerobic Activators can be used in conjunction with the adhesive as follows:
  • Apply the selected activator to one surface and allow to dry for several seconds.
  • Apply the adhesive to the other surface and bring together the two mating parts and tighten as required.
  • Allow the bond to fully cure.

Post Application

  • Alternatively the activator can be applied after the two surfaces have been brought together.

Automated Application

  • When applying IMPACT ADHESIVE 101 Screw Lock via automated machinery refer to the machinery manufacturers recommendations and consult IMPACT ADHESIVES Technical Department as to the best method of application
  • IMPACT ADHESIVES supply a wide range of application equipment for dispensing anaerobic adhesives.
